Things To Do and Points of Interest in the  Lake Buchanan and Tow, Texas Area

You’re welcome to bring your boat or your jet ski! The loading ramp is just across the street. Ramp fee is $3. Bring your boat or rent one - Lake Buchanan offers great boating and fishing!

No boat? That’s okay. You can wade out on the point with your rod and reel and try your luck.

Be sure and talk to some of the locals as they are always willing to share the knowledge of what lures or bait work best.

Cockaroo, an avid sportsman, is seen here with his rifle, golf club and fishing rod!Another short and scenic drive from Llano, west on Hwy. 152 is Castell, Texas. Once there, slow down and stop at The Castell General Store. On Friday’s, Mexican food is on the menu from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. On Saturday’s you will enjoy some of the best barbecue you have ever tasted. Beef brisket, pork tenderloin, link sausage, and grilled chicken.

Live entertainment too! Visit with Randy, the owner, and listen to big and tall tales and meet the famous rooster, Cockaroo! Randy and Cockaroo have starred together on Dallas/Fort Worth’s WFAA television in recent months past.

Cockaroo will entertain you with his best friend, Billy Bass the singing fish! You gotta see it to believe it! You can call ahead to check on the barbecue. In Tow, your dining options are limited. Here are a few to choose from…
  • The Country Kitchen has home cooking with daily specials. They have monster hamburgers and homemade fries. Tex-Mex enchiladas are on the menu, too.
  • The Bluffton Store has GREAT pizza to carry out or eat in the store.
  • Paradise Point is a good homemade breakfast choice.
Here are a few dining suggestions in Llano, just a short drive away:

  • The Llaneaux , is a wonderful seafood restaurant and located at the bridge in Llano, Texas. Only 15 miles from here.
  • Café Del Rio serves wonderful Mexican food. In Llano on Hwy. 29 going West.
  • The Hungry Hunter has good home-style cooking. You can find this place on Hwy. 29.
  • The Acme Restaurant is located on the square in downtown Llano. They feature a daily lunch menu and then a dinner menu. A good place to dine in the evening.
  • Cooper’s Barbecue in Llano on Hwy. 29. This is a popular stop. Get there early or you’ll be standing in line for awhile.
